This workflow synchronizes tasks between Monday.com and
• Receives webhook from Monday.com
• Normalizes data fields
• Checks for duplicates in Jira
• Creates new issues or upd
🔄 DATA NORMALIZATION
Extracts and standardizes Monday.com data:
From column_values:
✓ summary: Item name (trimmed)
✓ component: Component column (lowercase)
✓ severity: Severity level (uppercase)
📊 JIRA SEARCH
Retrieves all existing issues from Jira:
• Uses Jira REST API
• Fetches all issues (getAll)
• Returns: issue keys, summaries, fields
• Scans entire backlog
🔍 FUZZY DUPLICATE DETECTION
Algorithm:
• Compares Monday summary against all Jira titles
• Character-level similarity matching
• Threshold: > 80% match
Detects:
⚖️ DECISION GATE
Branches based on duplicate status:
IF duplicateFound = true:
→ Route to "Update Existing"
→ Merge with existing issue
→ Avoid duplicates
🔧 UPDATE EXISTING
When duplicate detected:
• Uses matched Jira issue key
• Updates existing record
• Adds new information
• Increments counter

When no duplicate found:
• Creates new Jira issue
• Project: Kanban (10001)
• Issue Type: Task (10006)
• Summary: From Monday title
📝 LOG BACK TO MONDAY
After Jira action completed:
• Adds update to Monday item
• Documents:
✓ Action taken (created/updated)
✓ Jira issue key
📋 OPTIONAL: CREATE BOARD
Can create new Monday.com board:
• Project name from Jira
• Private board
• For team collaboration
